Meet the Writers

Carla Bevan

Carla Bevan

Editor-in-Chief

I started my career opening the post at Cosmo, with roles at Vogue.com, Glamour.com and Marie Claire, before MyDaily. I love writing about fashion, but hate shopping for it, like staying in hotels I can’t really afford, but am just as happy camping and my proudest journalistic moment to date was when Jennifer Aniston asked me where I’d bought my shoes.

Managing Editor

I got my start at O the Oprah Magazine and then moved to NYLON Magazine (NYC’s unofficial hipster bible) before moving to the web as the associate fashion and beauty editor at ELLEgirl.com. I joined AOL as the editor of StyleList in the states before jumping the pond to work for MyDaily.

I am a fashion journalist and trends consultant. I'm also the European fashion and arts correspondent for The National newspaper in the UAE and have also worked for the Evening Standard as well as WGSN - where I was the Fashion Editor.

Assistant Editor

As MyDaily's Assistant Editor I work on all strands of the site, with a focus on fashion, beauty and travel. Previously I have worked as an intern for net-a-porter.com and as Editorial Assistant for AOL StyleList.

Sarah Karmali

Sarah Karmali

Senior Writer

As Senior Writer, I'm the newest member of Team MyDaily. I first cut my teeth in the industry as a runner on This Morning (which quite literally, involved lots of running) before turning reporter for a brief period in the buzzing Capital FM newsroom. My first online experience then came courtesy of instyle.co.uk, where I worked as Editorial Assistant for a year (via an all-too-brief spell at LOOK Magazine) before moving on to be the Online Style Writer at Marie Claire.

Philippa Warr

Philippa Warr

Junior Social Editor

I'm MyDaily's junior social editor (love of talking to people + love of statistics = social media addiction). You can usually find me scrolling through Twitter on my phone with my left hand and clicking through Facebook page stats with the right. Before this I worked as Digital Spy’s editorial assistant for two years and if you dig back even further you'll find the Science Museum and the Oxford Union Society library skulking round my CV!

Contributing Editor

I am currently eating lots of popcorn, listening to 80s and 90s pop remixes and working on a book of fashion called My Style. I try to stick to deadlines for the pages I write in Glamour magazine while juggling my mummy duties for the adorable Ethan. The updated version of my autobiography is on the shelves now and I have discovered the lolly jar at the doctors! Let me tell you, appendixes are SO last year!  I hope you’re enjoying my MyDaily scribbles as much as I am. Keep your feedback, questions and suggestions coming.

Helen Costello

Helen Costello

Décor Editor

My first break into the world of journalism was writing fashion show reports for Vogue.com. It soon became clear that it would always be style over substance and I’ve been worshipping at its altar ever since. During my time as online deputy editor of Easy Living magazine, my passion for design extended from the clothes on my back to everything around me. I will spend months in obsessive pursuit of the perfect bathroom tap and I’m not ashamed to say it.

Contributing Entertainment Editor

I’ve had the pleasure of working on the entertainment teams at Channel 4 and other AOL sites like Moviefone, AOL TV and Eleven. It’s my job to get MyDaily a sneak peak of one of the world’s most glamorous industries. I can usually be found at film screenings, chatting to celebs on the red carpet or sipping tea and eating biscuits with some of the industry’s biggest stars (aka interviewing). Every now and again I even get to fly out to the movie capital of the world – Hollywood. Not a bad gig for a self-confessed TV and film addict!
