Singer and actress Kylie Minogue was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1968 and was a star on soap opera Neighbours before becoming a recording artist in 1987. She had a hit with her first song, a cover of “Locomotion,” which became the highest selling single of the decade, and her debut album Kylie also featured the number one hit “I Should Be So Lucky.” Minogue has achieved worldwide sales of over 68million and was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2008.
In 2000, Kylie Minogue made a pop comeback with her album Light Years, which featured the hit song “Spinning Around,” and the following year she came out with the blockbuster single “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” from her album Fever. Kylie won her first Grammy Award in 2004 for best dance recording for the song “Come Into My World.”
Kylie Minogue most recently went on a world tour in support of her eleventh studio album, Aphrodite. The diminutive pop star’s dramatic sequinned costumes were designed by Minogue’s pals, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Minogue has a collection of perfumes and a bedding range called Kylie Minogue at Home.
In 2005, Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 36, underwent surgery and chemotherapy and has made a full recovery. She has been dating Spanish male model Andres Velencoso, 10 years her junior, since 2008. Kylie Minogue is considered a style icon who has repeatedly reinvented herself since the 1980s. Kylie is is known for her toned legs and bum and forever youthful appearance, but she denies ever going under the knife. In February 2012, Kylie Minogue was threatened by a stalker on Twitter.
