Princess Eugenie Is Moving To New York!

Earlier this year, the Daily Mail reported that Princess Eugenie would be swapping her life in London for New York after landing a job at an art auction house.

With her move date looming (the Mail reports that it is just "weeks away") - what exactly will Eugenie be doing in the Big Apple and more importantly, how will her mother Sarah and sister Beatrice cope without her on nights out at LouLous?

The job?
Eugenie is moving to work at Paddle8 - an auction house owned by Alexander Gilkes. However - this isn't just any old auction house. Gilkes is an ex-Etonian who is good pals with Princes William and Harry and the Middleton family. His brother Charlie owns the royal family's favourite hangout Maggies - yep, this man is well connected.

It's not clear what Genie's new role will entail, but let's hope it's more than just answering the phone/making the tea/going to Starbucks. She's got a degree in Art History to make use of!

The friends?
The 23 year-old princess will probably stay close to Gilkes and his New York social circle at first and hurrah! Pippa Middleton loves to hang out in Manhattan (especially if there's a tennis match to watch or shopping to be done). Then there are the queen bees of the Hamptons (who will be back in the city now summer's over) - the likes of Lauren Bush Lauren, Hilary Rhoda and the Hiltons. Who wouldn't be delighted to have a royal BFF!

The home?
Eugenie's new office is based in New York's Soho district, but it's more likely she'll live in the city's most expensive area - the Upper East Side. Think Blair Waldorf's apartment in Gossip Girl.

The hangouts?
Now that she's a few thousand miles away from her favourite London hotspots, Genie will have to find new places to socialise in. After-work cocktails at Soho House or The Standard are sure to be high on the agenda in her first few weeks in the city. We'll keep you posted.
