From Independent Women To Bow Down Bitches: Why I've Fallen Out Of Love With Beyonce

Get updates from Ellen Stewart:

First she stripped down to her pants for GQ, then she started wearing exotic animals skins all over the place and now her much-anticipated new single is a bit of a joke. MyDaily's Celebrity Writer Ellen Stewart on why she's fallen out of love with Beyonce...

Hello, my name's Ellen and I'm a recovering Beyoholic. It's been two months since I last squealed with delight over anything Beyonce related and I'm feeling pretty crappy about it. My love affair with Bey began way back when (aka 1998) with a little Destiny's Child track called No, No, No. Since then B's had her ups and downs but I've always been there cheering from the sidelines... Until now.

On Sunday night I waited with bated breath for Beyonce's first new single in TWO years hit the Internet, but soon after pressing play I found myself asking, "Is this some kinda joke?" Genuinely, what happened to the "all the women who are independent"? Where was all the "who run the world, girls"? Beyonce, the ULTIMATE image of female empowerment was suddenly singing, “I know when you were little girls you dreamt of being in my world. Don’t forget it. Respect that. Bow down bitches.”

Hey Bey, who the hell are you talking to? Me? Your loyal and devoted fan. Yeah I wanted to be in your Say My Name, Bills Bills Bills and not to mention Single Ladies world but hey, if you'd rather I just knelt at your feet while you call me a bitch I'm not really down with that.

Ever since she stripped down to her knickers for GQ magazine, Beyonce's been in my bad books, but I thought it was a blip. A blip that would be dealt with by the release of her new hands-in-the-air-singing-into-a-hairbrush single, but no.

Who is this new Beyonce? This 'yeah I'm a massive success and now all you little people can get stuffed' Beyonce. Whoever she is, I'm not sure I like her. Bring back cowboy hat Bey... NOW.

Cowboy hat Beyonce was a highpoint, along with Austin Powers Beyonce, Irreplaceable Beyonce and, of course, mum to baby Blue Beyonce. New Beyonce is a stranger and bares no relation to the girl who said she was too hot for boys, that threw her pager out the window and wouldn’t go out with someone who couldn’t pay their own bills.

Here have a listen and try and tell me you don't agree...

I'm sorry, but anyone who past or present - really thought Beyonce was a figurehead for female empowerment, feminism or independence is foolish. She is no different from the vast majority of other pop artists cashing in on her life, looks and body to make a buck. It's surprising it's taken one single for people to realise this.

She wants us to bow down to her new god, Lucifer. Notice how she is always making the sign of the All-Seeing Eye (eye of Lucifer) with her hands, just like her hubby JayZ whose name refers to him as JehovahGod, the alpha and the omega. Beyonce, you have let JayZ deceive you in your belief. You are a naive simpleton seduced by fame, the almighty dollar and lucifer's servant JayZ. Sad to see others in the crowd making the sign, not knowing what it stands for.

Ellen, I applaud your efforts but you clearly are not a Beyonce fan for two reason 1) This is not a single it is actually a mash up of two songs and if you WERE a TRUE fan you would have comprehended that it was just a buzz track mean to cause up a stir. 2) You are not a fan BECAUSE IF YOU WERE you would have understood she was not talking to her fans at all in this song, but NAYSAYERS who have talked down about her and her success for years, calling her pregnancy fake, saying she has no talent, she is washed up etc etc. She was showing us that she has another side just like the rest of us and wanted to vent. Lets talk about GQ, i hate women who think like you. WOMEN should embrace their bodies and their sexuality, she is a mother and she showed women you can still be fit and sexxy after doing one of the hardest things in the world, giving birth. Furthermore I find it appalling that you think this was not her regular image, she has danced around in leotards and taken racy photos for campaigns most of her career, where have you been?

I totally agree with the views of the writer of this article, too!
And I forgot to mention that your Superbowl performance was a joke too.

Come on Bey! You can do better than this!

The song is rubbish, and what has happened to her hair? If my wife got up in the morning and her hair looked like that, she would wash and straighten it, before going to work and before being seen in public..
She was such a pretty girl, now she is a mess.

Beyonce, has lost the "magic" . Just flaunting your body does not make you a number one pop or rock star.

Unfortunately, Beyonce's new record is, in a word - garbage. I too used to be (please note the past tense) a massive fan ....... not any more and if she keeps churning garbage out like this, I won't be bothering to buy anymore of her records. What a shame, as she really can sing.
