Lydia Bright is a designer, owner of boutique Bella Sorella and former star of The Only Way Is Essex. Prior to her appearance at London Fashion Weekend on the panel of MyDaily Presents, the 23-year-old talked Sex And The City and her latest collection
When I look in the mirror I see... a girl from the suburbs who got lucky. I’ve been so fortunate with all the opportunities that I’ve been offered. I’ve had a lot of great chances to get to where I am today.
If I was stranded on a desert island with one dress it would be... my dressing gown, is that allowed? Just because it’s really comfy and I could just snuggle up. BUT if there was a celeb party on the island then I would take a party frock with me. The cream Blake dress from my collection is my favourite – it’s really floaty and Summery.
When I was at school I wanted to be... a writer for a fashion magazine. I loved English literature and language and I used to buy all the fashion mags. If I could work at a women’s magazine I’d love to write about style but nothing too high fashion, I love the high street – it’s more me – so would want to write about that.
My biggest style triumph was... at the National Television Awards the year TOWIE won an award that was great, and probably my best fashion moment. I was wearing a silver/grey Bella Sorella dress with 3D flowers and lots of embellishment. I got a lot of amazing press after that and people started to take notice of my style.
If I could be any character from film or literature I'd be... Carrie Bradshaw from Sex And The City. I’m obsessed with her style. She lives in New York – I want to live in New York. She’s got a fabulous wardrobe and amazing friends. I want to have a friend like Samantha. The list could go on!
