So, guess what? Kate Middleton isn't among the UK's 100 most powerful women, according to Radio 4's Woman's Hour. SHOCK HORROR! Upon discovering this travesty Team MyDaily set out to prove the programme wrong and illustrate exactly why the Duchess Of Cambridge deserves a spot on that list...

Women's Hour has just put together its first ever power list and K-Middy totes failed to make the grade.
Tory MP Eve Pollard, who was involved in the decision-making, said, “Inevitably not everyone will agree with the 100 we have chosen. There are some omissions. For example, we had long debates about the Duchess of Cambridge. Is she influential? Hugely. Is she powerful? Not yet.

“What this list does is shine a light on those sectors where too few women are getting to the top, like politics, FTSE companies, the military and journalism. Our legacy, we hope, is that this list might change that.” However, granny-in-law aka the Queen came top with Home Secretary Theresa May, Santander boss Ana Botin, Supreme Court judge Baroness Brenda Hale and businesswoman Elisabeth Murdoch joining HM in the top five.

Ermahgerd! Last thing we heard Kate was THE most powerful woman out there. Come on, she's one half of the second most famous couple in the world (first being Beyonce and Jay-Z, of course). She has pretty much single-handedly kept the high street in business with her unwavering love for Whistles, Reiss and LK Bennett. Also, let's not forget she decides what the future heir to the throne will be called. Imagine, little Prince Derek or Princess Tulisa...

I'd hate to think of someone being on the list whose public accomplishments have been overdoing morning-sickness (by all accounts because...) she did the sports award the following evening, was given a £6M house, and whose in-laws kicked up a fuss because someone snapped her in a bikini on a beach. And I doubt her topless pictures decorate many male walls if any.

She is not being put into a hugely prominent role , so early into her marriage for very good reason.
Priority is to settle into marriage , there are years ahead when they will have opportunities at the right moment in their lives, and since she is not born Royal , her task now is to support her husband , to avoid a repeat of Diana and her voriceferous competition with her husband splashed across the newspapers.

What DRIVEL! Duchess Kate powerful... do me a favour. At what dressing up and simpering in front of the camera. She's never done a day's work in her empty life. Let's concentrate on women who are powerful and have achieved some status in their life... other than marrying into the hierarchy!!

how strange these comments are today. while kate was sick you were all defending her with your life. i agree that to be powerful one has to have lived and experienced life and how to deal with it. who knows whether kate will be as powerful as diana, hopefully she won't have the same problems to cope with.

I think this list mistakes influence for power. In reality, even HM The Queen, who headed the list, doesn't actually have any real power because she's a constitutional monarch. What "power" the likes of JK Rowling or, God forbid, Victoria Beckham, has is a mystery. The politicians listed like Theresa May are transient - so any power they may possess is fleeting. These feminist-inspired lists do more harm to the feminist cause than good.

She has not 'missed out' as the headline indicates, she has a life of obscene luxury and idleness, whilst dragging her limelight lusting family along with her. The Queen has ruled with dignity and must be very disappointed at the cringe worthy antics of her family.

I would not say she was powerful , or, come to that , even particularly influential . she may wear a dress and a few silly girls might rush out to buy a similar (cheaper ) version ...but they would do that if they say Victoria Beckham wear one !
POWER is , to me , having the ability to dramatically change or control the lives of others ..if Kate dropped off the planet tomorrow , what difference would it make to anyone but William and her close family ?
