Bravo! Nicholas Kirkwood Wins BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund

Fashion kudos to Nicholas Kirkwood, winner of this year’s British Fashion Council/ Vogue Designer Fashion Fund (which means £200,000 and a whole lot of mentoring from the fashion most fabulous).

Whilst the shortlisted designers - Roksanda Ilincic, Mary Katrantzou, Nicholas Kirkwood, Peter Pilotto and Emilia Wickstead - can each hold their own on the creative-entrepreneurial front, it is Kirkwood's label that triumphed. Got to love that fancy footwear.

Of his win, Nicholas Kirkwood said, “I'm thrilled. It was a great honour to be part of such a strong shortlist of talent. Being awarded the fund will enable us to realise our plans to develop the brand globally". Bravo!

Alexandra Shulman, editor of British Vogue, said: “I am delighted Nicholas Kirkwood is the winner of this year's award. Nicholas has created a real business in an impressively short amount of time and has become one of the world's most influential shoe designers. I very much look forward to seeing what he does next.” As do we - roll on the next collection of luxe looks. We ladies are ALL about the shoe.
