Hats Off To Victoria Pendleton In Purple To Launch Royal Ascot

Whatta headpiece! Victoria Pendleton brought a pop of colour to a dreary Hyde Park donning a very large, very pink, and very floral hat.

The hat-cum-house-plant was certainly a sight to behold. You'll be pleased to hear this isn't the latest wardrobe must-have for Spring/Summer 2013 but a promo tool for - what else? - Royal Ascot. Phew!

The athlete ditched her usual Stella McCartney faces and opted for a boat neck Emilia Wickstead frock for the launch of Ascot's The Colour And The Glory' campaign.

Teaming the My Fair Lady-esque ensemble with nude suede heels, the cyclist posed for the camera aboard a snazzy horse-drawn carriage.

I'm glad the writer threw in the vague reference about Victoria being an athlete/cyclist, and did not fully rely on the readers knowing her for being on some TV show. She will always be a World Champion cyclist in my eyes.

Yes agree totally. At least she has achieved something big in her life rather than most of these nobodies. But the shoes are wrong surely.....? Otherwise, fabulous,.

I go to Royal Ascot every yar for Ladies Day, and I always wear my Top hat and Morning ataire.

Maybe you would like to join me in the Champange bar which is next to the main Grandstand after the

Gold Cup Race after Three o'clock for Pimmns and a light meal?.
