Beauty Trend: Braids

Braided hair has become a big deal and just when it looked like the trend had gone away, it has made an almighty comeback, just in time for red carpet season.

From relaxed twists and textured waves to braided buns and plaited ponytails (as seen at David Koma's Spring/Summer 2013 show), the look has been re-appearing on the catwalk, season after season. The A-listers haven't stopped experimenting with the versatile do either. (Even Duchess Kate plaited her hair last year).

As for the style du jour? It's the braided crown, a favourite with Jennifer Lawrence and Julianne Hough, plus a big hit on the catwalk at Berlin's S/S13 fashion week. So plaits are in? Yep, and the more beautiful the braid, the better.
