Kate Middleton's Birthday Present From Prince William Revealed?

Get updates from Ellen Stewart:

Kate Middleton celebrates her 31st birthday on Wednesday 9 January, but after surprising her with an adorable puppy named Lupo last year, Prince William AKA the Duke will have to work hard to do better this year. We heard through the grapevine that Wills may have something very special hidden under his present-buying hat... a house!

It's rumoured that Wills is splashing out on a £5 million pad in the Home Counties, where pregnant Kate can relax away from prying eyes.

For her 30th, Kate's sis Pippa reportedly planned an all-swinging all-dancing eighties-themed shindig for the Princess, though it's thought to be a much more laid back affair this year... Being pregnant is the best excuse to put her Royal feet up.

Nice to know wher money is going. I thought he might be wasting it.
12:52 PM on 01/06/2013
I think what a lot of people are missing is the fact that the money is what was left to william and harry when their mother died, so no its not taxpayers money at all. Shame some people cannot get their facts right again

Its his money, his inheritance...no one has mentioned the millions burnt away in fireworks on New Years Eve..cut backs in the NHS, McMillan nurses and so on..but there we are watching a pointless dispay of burning taxpayers money in 11 mins seeing the New Year in..let alone the money spent on the extra police who have to be on duty and everything else to see a New Year in.So lets stop having a go at the Royals ok, when our goverment are now going to cut back on Winter fuel payments for the older generation, when in fact all the ex pats who live in a warmer climate in Spain also have the this £200 help.So they live in 40* and we live in 5* and they are still entitled.HELLO something wrong here..But all you jibe at is the Royal Family who bring the most into this country.

viv 319yes it is his money which he inherited from his mother her divorce settlment stolen from the duchy of cornwall so it does belong to the country and as for you rhallsworth last year the money from buckingham palace was £10.000000 and the queen got £50.000000 .big difference and get it right blair and brown got the uk in a mess not the torys and now we are suffering.what has william and harry brought into the country not a penny but they still live a playboy culture there security is 10 times more than a pensioner gets a week and as for the winter fuel payments being stopped that will never happen france has done well without there royals and they get more visitors than the uk .off with there heads

I am sorry to so disagree with you. Diana was a Spencer with money in her own right before she became Princess of Wales and it was prob most of that which was inherited by her sons. The Queen the age she is,is still the busiest woman and has the busiest diary apart from The Princess Royal within the British Empire.France hates the English,!! So you reckon there are more people visiting Paris than London??Hmm ok!!You quote about Blair and Brown, they didnt screw up the National Health Service as the Torys did and are still doing.Dont moan about having a monarchy when we could God forbid, have a Dictator or a President, oh by the way Obama's campain cost the American tax payer a Billion $...I rest my case.Converation closed.

I agree about burning tax payers money in fireworks but that doesn't justify the limitless handouts we're giving these Royals, I reckon we should cut back a lot. You're correct that there is a lot wrong and this particular case is another wrong, but it doesn't make it right because they're royals.

I am seventy years old, and remember as a child a photograoh of the late Queen Mary in a golden coach passing through the streets where there were the poorest children you could ever see, no shoes and dressed in rags, they were looking on in bewilderment. Our present Queen was on the throne at the time I saw the photograph, I would love to see it again if anyone knows of it.

Well, what had the poor done to deserve a life at all? To be worthy you must live in palaces, wear fabulous jewellery, ride in golden coaches and...do nothing to earn it!

we have been told that the government plans to end the benefit bonanza .. will that be before or after the exchange of contracts??

I guess this house will have curtains that will e drawn while the honest hard working nieghbours will be going to earn their tax money to pay for it.
Or will the (tax paid for) servants have already got up and opened the curtains?

Are we Meant to be happy for her ????. Sorry got to go and turn the lights off and turn the heating down to save on bills thats what us pensioners and unemployed have to do. :( :( This is Just the news the country needs, with millions on the bread line, and more and more leachers coming from east Europe. !!!!!! ...£5m on one lousy present !!!! How insensative and a kick in the Ba**s to the under privileged.
02:34 AM on 01/06/2013
Are we supposed to be happy for her that he spends £5m on a present, when Pensioners and the unemployed are struggling to survive, the country is on its knees, more and more leachers are swarming here from east Europe. This news makes us all feel so much better :( knowing he has spent more money than most people can imagine on one a lousy present. Wonder if he goes round turning off lights to save on his bills, wrapped in a blanket and eating soup to keep warm. !!!!! WELL DONE WILLIAM !!!!

I agree with your comments, as future King he should perhaps donated the money to charity. He is provided with free housing at Kensigton palace where there are several large Apartments given to the Royal family.

That £5million is more than most people will pass through their hands in a lifetime. If you earned £100,000pa it would still take you 50 years to accumulate it.

You mean Marie Antoinette when told the people are hungry and have no bread she said give them cake.

Putting bitterness and mild jelousy aside, these two are so far detached from real life as a normal working class individual or family its rediculous! Why do we respect and protect the royals so much? They have done nothing for me or my family, the whole notion of a royal family is outdated and primitive, we are in a lot of trouble as a nation, its time for these people to share their wealth and walk amongst the masses, the romantic notion of prince and princess does nothing for us.... Nothing...... Who do we think we are parading these spoilt brats around the world, its embarassing!!!

If only more people could see the monarchy for what it is - a totally outdated, undemocratic institution which helps perpetuate Britain's class ridden society. It has famously hung on to its privileges (like only paying tax on its income (and that only fairly recently) while the rest of us - if we've managed through hard work to accumulate a little 'estate' - are clobbered with massive inheritance tax and tax on just about everything we have and do. Around the world, and I've travelled a lot, Britain is seen as an old-fashioned ruritania that clings to its monarchy as the last vestige of a lost Empire. Most of them just seem out for a good time. And Charles is clearly unsuited the the role of King - he takes undue advantage of his privileges, he meddles in politics and has a playboy life style. I read a while ago that on one occasion he insisted on having the royal train get him home from a trip to Scotland - at a cost to the tax payer of £24000! We need to get real about the lot of them, see them for what they are, retire them to one of their private mansions (Balmoral perhaps) and make them pay inheritance tax so that they eventually learn something of what life is like among 'the lower classes' (as, I believe, the Queen Mother used to refer to us).

WELL SAID. THE UPPER CLASS AND THE SUPER RICH ARE REWARDED WITH TITLES BY THE MONARCHEY. I BELIEVE ELECTED PRESIDNETS HAS NO RIGHT TO LIVE IN PALACES. US PRESIDNT ALTHOUGH ELECTED IS GIVEN TO LIFE THE STYLE OF ROYALITY, THE RULES WERE ESTABLISHED IN THE 17TH CENTURY AND NEEDS TO CHANGE.

How is it the whole world apart from the Far Far left wing Counries who televised the couples wedding and loved it, as they do with all UK ROYAL occasions.

As for your travelling and then saying" Britain is seen as an old-fashioned ruritania that clings to its monarchy as the last vestige of a lost Empire"

Bull S+++, you probably only travelled within the Communist inspired countries, maybe you are Mr A.S or Red K
