At the first stroke of 11 sounded by Big Ben, Whitehall observed a two-minute silence.
Kate watched her husband Prince William lay a wreath from a balcony of the Foreign Office, along with Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, who was also formal in black attire.
Where: Remembrance Sunday, Cenotaph, London, 11 November.

Surely an article on why the Earl of Wessex was taking the parade when he's never fired a shot in anger, in fact couldn't get past the training. A bit of an insult to those who died and those marching past.
Some points to consider.
1. It is not "at" Remembrance Sunday, it is on Remembrance Sunday.
2. The Queen is always the first to lay a wreath.
3. The Armed Forces have not died, it is members of the Armed Forces.
4. It isn't just Whitehall that observed a two minute silence - everywhere does.
5. Sophie was "also formal in black attire". SO WAS EVERYBODY!! IT'S WHAT YOU WEAR
6. The most unbelievable of all is starting an article about Remembrance Sunday, referring to Kate Middleton living up to the accolade of Hat Person of The Year 2011.
