Skiing season is here and if you're planning to hit the slopes, don't miss the brand new Go Snow collection from Sawday's. We've tracked down six of our favourite Alpine escapes, from chalets to hotels with hot-tubs and bargain B&Bs. Take a look below for ski resort inspiration:

Chalet Châtelet
The cow-belled Vallée d'Abondance envelopes this pretty pine chalet, the result of years of your hosts' creative energy. Oak floors, soft shapes and high ceilings hug reclaimed furniture and works by other members of this arty family. Warmth comes from a Finnish stove and solar panels. Find spectacular views from the hot tub, expect cultured chat (and delicious food) in the intimate dining room. From your bedroom you gaze to mountains you skied that day. From £520 per person per week, half-board. Chalet Châtelet, Route d’Abondance, 74360 Bonnevaux, Haute-Savoie
Auberge Le Chalet des Troncs
Some people get everything right, without making a lot of noise about it, and Christine does just that. This old chalet has been skilfully renovated in rustic contemporary style; in two wood-lined sitting rooms an old sledge has become a coffee table, there’s a nice scatter of antiques and bric-a-brac and bedrooms are a joy. Cross-country ski from the door or catch a free bus for the Grand Bornand and return to the indoor with its huge picture window onto the mountain and the new infinity hot tub. Tuck in to Christine’s famous pot-au-feu prepared over the open fire. From 350 Euros per room per night, half-board based on two sharing. Sole occupancy also available. Auberge Le Chalet des Troncs, Les Troncs, Vallée du Bouchet, 74450 Le Grand Bornand, Haute-Savoie
La Ferme du Chozal
Savour slow food on a suntrap terrace while skiers whizz past on a snowy piste. This unique small hotel, reborn from a farmhouse, breathes Scandinavian style and modern alpine charm. Pine, stone and minimalist white palettes frame soft beds and deep baths for post-ski indulgence. Seek out the cosy library nook and – best of all – an inspired restaurant where seasonal menus feature meat from Alpine pastures, fish from mountain lakes and local wine. You're in l'Espace Diamond, a quick slide from a ski lift, and near Les Saisies' cross-country playground. From 135 Euros per room per night based (sleeps 3). La Ferme du Chozal, 73620 Hauteluce, Savoie, France
La Ferme du Lac Vert
Cow hides and fur, delectable canapés and cocktails that explode in the mouth – live dangerously at the funkiest chalet in the Portes du Soleil! Quirky cow horn sculptures add personality, bathrooms ooze luxury and Lucy and Rob are full of joie de vive. The shuttle whisks you to the slopes and you return to three fabulous living spaces (one with a bar on runners, one with a fireplace for warming vin chaud), a hot tub on the terrace, and bedrooms that are simply divine. From £595 per person per week, half board. Sole occupancy from £11,900 per week (sleeps 24). La Ferme du Lac Vert, 169 Chemin de la Vieille Plagne, Chef Lieu, Montriond, 74110 Morzine, Haute-Savoie
La Ferme du Soleil
The hamlet of four old wooden houses is high up, impossibly pretty, detached from the bustling world, with views to lift spirits and a deep silence in which to contemplate such beauty. You are a stroll from the top of a chair lift and a quick slide from the bottom of several, so you can stop skiing when you're ready for a blazing log fire and a delicious bite. The word 'idyll' really does apply. Big,cosy, beautiful, open and convivial – another dream realised. From 700 Euros per person per week, half-board. La Ferme du Soleil, Les Gettiers, 74450 Le Grand Bornand, Haute-Savoie
Mazot Les Tines
This upstairs-downstairs little chalet –possibly the sweetest in Chamonix was built by Colleen's husband, a well-known mountain guide. She runs her own ski company and they live across the garden. Perfect for a young family, it’s light and bright and stylish. A floor-to-ceiling window looks onto the garden and kids love the mezzanine. Up the wooden spiral staircase is the main bedroom with its balcony and magnificent mountain views. You are on the edge of pretty Les Tines and a bus brings you right in to Chamonix. From 800 Euros per week, self-catered (sleeps 4) Mazot Les Tines, 245 chemin de la Tannerie, 74400 Chamonix Mont Blanc, Haute-Savoie
