Justin Bieber is a gentleman with a lot of red carpet and stage engagements. Generally the teen sensation manages to stay in the "hot" portion of the style thermometer, but sometimes an ill wind arrives via the back door of his wardrobe and sends his rating plummeting into "not".

And so, without any more tortured metaphors, here are five of Justin Bieber's most hideous jackets. Enjoy!

#5 - The Golden Guy Jacket
Turning up to an awards ceremony (in this case the 2011 Billboard Music Awards) wearing an award-adjacent golden outfit is one of the oldest tricks in the celebrity book. Unfortunately a golden jacket is not the easiest look to pull off and thus we have our first candidate.
#4 - The Christmas Is Coming Jacket
It may have been November when Justin grabbed the mic and belted out a tune for NBC's <em>Today</em> show, but he was determined to bring a spot of Christmas cheer via the medium for the knitted jacket. Bonus points for the face he's pulling though - very heartfelt.
#3 - The Baby Changing Mat Jacket
J-Biebs arrived at the NRJ Music Awards ceremony looking decidedly wipe-clean in this sky blue MCM jacket. The trainers, hair and jacket didn't help with the general "determined to be cool hanging around the bus station after school" vibe, either.
#2 - The Dead Advertising Character JAcket
So this is what you would get if you stuck the Michelin Man with a pin and then sawed his head and legs off. Slightly macabre stage style at the 2011 American Music Awards...
#1 - The Purple Velvet
Justin wore this jacket in real life. Not on stage. REAL LIFE, PEOPLE. And that is why it is worse than the deflated Michelin Man. It was the <em>Never Say Never</em> premiere in LA. Word to the wise, Justin: Sometimes it's good to say "never".
