Duchess Kate Dons £300 Wellies For Family Day At The Polo

Are Kate and Wills feeling broody? The pair spent Father's Day cooing over his cousin Peter Phillips' baby at the Beaufort Polo Club in Gloucestershire.

Duchess Kate seemed to be having a whale of a time with her puppy Lupo and Autumn and Peter Phillips' daughter Savannah.

Prince William, meanwhile, spent time fussing the couple's latest addition to the family, baby Isla Elizabeth, in between showing off his polo-playing skills.

And, of course, Kate dressed the part in a pair of £300 Le Chameau wellies, which she'd also worn earlier in the day to spend time with the Expanding Horizons primary school camp in Kent.

But although she splashed out on the expensive leather-lined footwear, her jeans were a thrifty £29.99 from Zara.

Kate also showed off her love for Zara on Saturday night during a trip to the theatre to see The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe when she worked a pretty blue bejewelled dress.

The people who decide on the content of the topics on here really must lead a sad and shallow life if all they could focus on is the price of a pair of wellies. My God, what is the human race coming to when this is all you could focus on. Get a life you poor sad people of AOL, you really do make us feel ashamed to be a part of the same race as you, thats the human race.

Oh for god's sake all of you, grow up. If you had a load of spare money, and needed a new pair of wellies, wouldn't you get the best ones possible? I've had cheap wellies in the past, but have recently replaced them with a £95 pair of Hunters neoprene ones which are ridiculously comfortable and feel like you're walking round the fields in your favourite slippers. You DO get what you pay for with some things. Stop being jealous of what other people can afford, and concentrate on your own life.

Yep, purchased my Hunter neoprenes 9 yrs ago and they are still going strong - that works out about £10 a year so far!

Yes! You can tell we are 'all in it together'. The spending of £300.00 on a pair of wellies reflects the lack of social awareness and superficiality in some peoples lives compared to others where £300.00 would be a life-line!!. Talk about rubbing it in!

it would be wise if cameron had a word with the royal family to explain that the country is in a bad way and we including the royal family have to pull together and not to keep wasting the taxpayers money on unnecessary clothes especially when she is visiting under privelage children does kate not relise that a family could live for a month on what she spent on those wellingtons maybe she should remember what happened to the french royal family the working class folks will not take to kindly to a future queen living above her means

They're only £300 wellies to those who have any idea about the value of money! Even Alan Sugar would think twice before buying a pair.

There are huge savings to be made from "trimming" the civil list. Selling off some of the "family jewels" could ease the financial burden on every person in the country. Some of those vast riches could probably pay off the deficit and leave change!

God help us all when these two eventually have a child, we'll never hear the last of it.

No disrespect but if i paid 300 pounds for a pair of wellies i would not just be expecting them to last a few years and not perish I would be expecting to be handing them down to my great grandchildren as a family heirloom. Besides they do not last any longer than a 30 pound pair. The rest of the money is simply for the expensive name tag. I like the Royalty but I do not agree with extravagant wasting of money for no good reason, particularly these days in this country where most people are getting ripped off at every turn and cannot afford to live anymore.
