The Queen Effortlessly Outstyles Duchess Kate For Nottingham Station Visit

Who: The Queen
What: Doing what she does best, ie waving, smiling and holding a bunch of flowers while looking utterly impeccable. We're a big fan of HM in aquamarine, and this double-breasted tweed jacket is so on-trend that it hurts us a little.
Where: Nottingham Station.
Bonus info: The Duchess of Cambridge was in tow, and we firmly believe that the Queen easily trumps her granddaughter-in-law in the style stakes.

By contrast Kate looked decidedly drab in her petrol blue Missoni coat.

Nice photos. Now, if someone in UK could explain Huffington Post blocking comments. Seems to be a problem there. Just there, for some reason...................................................Cheers

the poor lass cant win ,with some folks if the colours had been reversed Catherine in blue then the comments would have read Catherine trying to upstage the Queen,

Even though Queen looks great as always Kate DOES NOT look drab and I didnt realise they were in competion with each other!
04:38 PM on 06/13/2012
Was it some kind of competition? What a ridiculous article. The Queen has at least 50 years experience over Kate so she should get it right.

Leave them alone for heaven sake.

fully agree
04:29 PM on 06/13/2012
Well if you seriously think the heading of this article is nice, what can I say. I cannot agree that the outing with the Queen and Kate should be made into a competition. Why can't we see if is nice for them o be out together looking happy. Are not allowed to be happy wtih them.
04:26 PM on 06/13/2012
Why does anything have to be written as though it is a contest. Both the Queen and Kate looked lovely. Why can't we look at things with a kinder attitute. Our Queen of sixty years was relaxed and happy doing her job. Kate who has been married a year is doing really well and it is nice to see them together and happy in each others country.
04:17 PM on 06/13/2012
What have I said wrong now. Surely the truth hasn't become a disgusting thing has it. Perhaps I should have been foul mouthed so you would allow it into print. Do you want me to list once more what you have allowed thrrough to me.,
04:16 PM on 06/13/2012
Why do reporters always make it a contest. Why couldn't they say how lovely it was for the Queen to have Kate with her. Why couldn''t they see happiness in them being together. It is a ridiculously written article by a small minded person. The both looked lovely and of course our Queen of sixty years was relaxed with the job/ Kae after one year is dealing with these situations extremely well. End of.

Kate is in a no win situation. She is damned if she does upstage and damned if she doesn't!! The Queen knows all about that from past experience when she was a young Princess and then Queen - only difference is TV and newspaper/magazine coverage have flooded the market since her young days and the likes of Margaret, Diana and Fergie have all fallen foul of the media for differing reasons. Royals are privileged but they do work for it - that cannot be said for the benefits culture and lack of jobs for future generations of Her subjects.

So what if no one likes the queens shoes, at her age comfort is more appealing than fashion and at 86 she has every right to want to wear comfortable shoes. Good on her i say.

Come on what a thing to say about Catherine. No she doesnt look drab, she is paying respects to the queen as it is the queens jubilee. No one should up stage her at this time.Good for you Catherine!!!!!

According to Ms Cole, the Duchess of Cambridge has become best mates with this talentless publicity seeking third rate nonentitiy, the Queen may have some words of advice on this matter.
