We track her style evolution over the years - the good, the bad and the big-shouldered - in our journey through Jodie Foster's most memorable fashion moments.
- Presentation of Taxi Driver, 1976
A 14-year-old Jodie keeps it simple in a high-waist skirt and short-sleeved button-down blouse as she attends a presentation of her film Taxi Driver with Robert De Niro.

- 49th Annual Academy Awards,1977
Jodie attended the Oscars in 1977 in an age-appropriate floral print dress with oversized cap sleeves.

- Tin Men premiere, 1987
Jodie embraces the 80s with a crimped hairstyle at the Tin Men premiere in 1987. She also wraps up in a dowdy, oversized leather blanket coat and pairs her tapered jeans with leather loafers, black socks and what looks like a dubious gold anklet.

- 61st Annual Academy Awards, 1989
Jodie may have won rave reviews and an Oscar for her performance in The Accused, but this tacky 80s prom dress got two thumbs down from critics. Giorgio Armani offered to dress her for the event the following year, marking the start of one of Tinseltown's longest-lasting designer-actress partnerships.

- 63rd Annual Academy Awards, 1991
The star works an androgynous pantsuit the risque way at the Oscars in 1991, going braless under her sparkly plunge-neck blazer.

- 4th Annual Spencer Tracy Awards, 1991
In one of her dumpiest red carpet looks, Jodie sports a head-to-toe blah grey hue - the wrinkled skirt, shiny tights and slip-on shoes put this in red carpet fail territory.

- 49th Annual Golden Globe Awards, 1992
Jodie (temporarily) ditched the sharp-shouldered jacket in favour of this sheer-panelled, cleavage-revealing LBD at the Globes in 1992, where she took home an award for The Silence of the Lambs.

- Seventh Annual IFP/West Independent Spirit Awards, 1992
The star's signature 90s red carpet style is firmly in place by 1992: Armani pantsuit teamed with low heels.

- 64th Annual Academy Awards, 1992
Jodie picks up her second Oscar in '92 for The Silence of the Lambs and continues the Armani love affair on the red carpet in this power-shouldered jacket with sequin jumpsuit. Shame about the hideous satin opera gloves and clashing ivory clutch bag.

Speaking about the way she feels when wearing the designer's clothes, Foster has said: "I don't need to be the flashiest person in the room, just the most confident."

- 30th Anniversary Women in Film Crystal and Lucy Awards, Beverly Hills, 2003
The star shows off her sexy side in this low-cut LBD with sheer-detailed skirt.
