Naomi Campbell Closes Milan Fashion Week

Erm, wow? Supermodel Naomi Campbell returned to the runway yesterday to close Roberto Cavalli's Autumn/Winter 2012 show - on the final day of Milan Fashion Week.

The 41-year-old took a turn on the runway (which, incidentally, was flanked by swathes of roses arranged into tiger stripes - so Cavalli) wearing a plum-coloured sequinned gown, plunging in the back and front, and black elbow-length gloves.

But Naomi's wasn't the only famous face stalking the Cavalli catwalk. We also spotted Russian top model Natasha Poly strutting between the roses, as well as Brit chick Lily Donaldson.

With the models zig-zagging around the square catwalk, it was hard to know where to look at times - so much was there to see at once. And that's not even counting the clothing. Textures were fused, patterns were clashed, animal paired with animal and daywear became suddenly more evening-appropriate.

Hemlines were either micro-mini, seen on fur bubble-hem skirts and puffed mini dresses, or floor-sweeping sequin, sheer and chiffon maxis. Ruffled, tiered dresses breezed down the runway one minute, followed by super-sexy flared leather trousers the next.

It was a strong, powerful and utterly outrageous collection. And we LOVED it. Having Naomi close the show was just the icing on the fashion-tastic cake.
