Style snaps? Stars narrowly avoid doubling up dresses at the Oscars

One of the most asked questions on Twitter during the Oscars 2012 red carpet was "Are Rose Byrne and Anna Faris wearing the same outfit?" (mostly because on the live stream they weren't stood side by side and the main takeaway from each was black sequins).

We figured we should step forward to put an end to the confusion and show you a side-by-side shot of the pair:

So there's your answer - both came down the carpet in stunning wet-look black sequinned gowns and sporting blunt bobs but the cuts of the dresses were very different.

Rose opted for a one-shouldered Vivienne Westwood dress and Anna preferred a long sleeved floorsweeper by Diane Von Furstenburg.

Preferences?

Another close call saw Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied turning up in strikingly similar outfits to Colin and Livia Firth. As with Rose and Anna, it's the bare arms vs long sleeves which most obviously differentiates the two but if you were playing a spot-the-difference you could also point out Natalie's polka dots and Livia's bust ruffling.

Again - preferences?

And finally, who thinks Jonah Hill is looking disturbingly like James "Arg" Argent?
