Getting Textured At Peter Pilotto

IN A NUTSHELL: Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos took inspiration from "various Asian subcultures" for Autumn/Winter 2012: namely, Japanese 'light trucks' and Chinese opera masks - in a collection that was primarily print (of course) and texture focused. Their now signature printed dresses incorporated a mixture of materials for the new season, with the use of beading, embroidery, sequins and cut-out panels to create 3D patterns. The collection also marked the brand's first foray into outerwear, with digital-print quilted jackets opening the show.

BEG, BORROW OR STEAL: We loved the flattering hanky hemline dresses which were fitted around the hips and flared at the knees. And for those with perfect pins, the super-skinny trousers were really very striking. We also wouldn't say no to a pair of the pointed luminous print heels courtesy of Nicholas Kirkwood.

F-ROW: Poppy Delevigne, Anna Wintour and lots of bleary eyed fashionistas (well, it was first thing Monday morning after a heavy weekend!)

VERCICT: With their Spring/Summer 2012 collection being one of our favourites of last season, these two had a lot to live up to. We're pleased to report that they didn't disappoint, showing a collection that had sufficiently evolved since the last so as to feel fresh and exciting, but without losing that signature aesthetic that we love so much.
