Thandie Newton attended the premiere for her latest film, Good Deeds, in LA last night in a gorgeous, golden lace dress by Temperley. However, while we love the frock, frankly, there are other things to focus on here. What is that doughnut-shaped thing falling off Thandie's head?

Is it a hat? A new hair accessory? After some consideration, we've worked out that the star has made a fascinator-style headpiece, out of her own curly locks.

It's definitely one way to save on the cost of buying a hat for Ascot, but is this unusual updo just a bit too unusual? Hot or not, Thandie does have a knack for looking radiant on the red carpet, no matter how her hair is placed on her head.
