London Fashion Week is just around the corner but it isn't all about who's wearing what at Somerset House this season. We've found five good reasons to bring back cocktail hour, from the West End's newest drinking spot to a champagne happy hour at Flute. Take a look at the top five bars to find the best cocktails in the capital and make some room in your fashion week diaries to kick off your heels and enjoy your favourite tipple.
- Dabbous

<strong>The lowdown:</strong> Head over to Whitfield St for a drink in the West End's newest restaurant and bar. Ollie Dabbous and award-winning mixologist Oskar Kinberg are behind this new venture, where the reasonably priced cocktails are in full flow.</p>
<p>
Attention to detail is second to none here, with the finest ingredients used in the selection of martini cocktails, long drinks, short drinks and the classics. You'll have just as much fun choosing your tipple as you will drinking it.]</p>

<strong>Top tipple: </strong>Oskar whipped us the MyDaily cocktail especially for us. He used Bombay Sapphire Gin, Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Lemon Juice, Pine Syrup, Coco Lopez, Lychee juice, egg white and a mint garnish.</p>

- Flute Bar

<strong>The lowdown:</strong> This is one for the champagne drinkers. Flute has finally set up shop in London, after opening two bars in New York and one in Paris. The menu boasts over a 100 different champagnes, as well as champagne cocktails and a few bar snacks to stop the bubbles from getting to your head. Head down on a Tuesday for champagne happy hour (between 5 and 8pm) or book a table on a Thursday Friday and Saturday to sup on the champers while the live music gets underway.</p>

- Novikov

<strong>The lowdown:</strong> The Novikov restaurant group has hit London's prestigious Berkeley Street, with both an Asian and an Italian dining space and a super stylish bar for after hours.</p>

<strong>Top tipple:</strong> A classic but refreshing pre-dinner drink - the gin & tonic.</p>

- Roast

<strong>The lowdown:</strong> Roast’s London Bridge Bar Manager and top mixologist Sebastien Guesdon has designed a range of cocktails just in time for fashion week. Choose from the fruity The Devil Wears Prada, the spiced rum flavoured Hot Couture, Manta, in memory of Alexander McQueen or the whisky heavy Roast Collection.</p>

<strong>Top tipple: </strong>Hot Couture, in honour of Dame Vivienne Westwood. Ingredients are as follows: fresh lime, spiced Bacardi rum, Mandarine Napoléon liqueur and fresh pineapple juice.</p>

- Bassoon Bar at the Corinthia

<strong>The lowdown:</strong> Step back in time to the roaring 1920s at The Corinthia's <a href="http://bassoonbar.co.uk/the-cocktails/" target="_blank">Bassoon Bar</a>. From the original Champagne Cocktail to the Bassson Smoked Margarita, the jam-packed drinks menu offers a modern twist on the classics, as well as bespoke recipes that are sure to get the tastebuds tingling. The hotel is also only a five-minute walk away from all the fashion week action at Somerset House - we'll see you there.</p>
