It also looks like the singer has found a new accessory to keep her balanced on those ridiculous shoes - she carried a regal walking stick around with her. Luckily, Mr McCartney was on hand to help the singer carry her fishnet train (although those black talons must have been rather off-putting).
So how do you rate Gaga's Grammy outfit this year? Amazingly strange or are you over her crazy style choices? Let us know and see which other stars dressed more appropriately on the red carpet below:
- Adele
Adele glammed things up in a sequin embellished, floor-sweeping gown by Giorgio Armani. This has to be one of the star's best red carpet looks yet.

- Jessie J
The metallic trend from the Baftas continued over in LA, with Jessie J opting for this Julien Macdonald design.

- Katy Perry
Perry matched her hair with her gown in Elie Saab couture.

- Kelly Osbourne
Kelly sparkled in a flattering, figure-hugging design by Tony Ward.

- Rihanna
We don't usually approve of Rihanna flashing her flesh, but we had to make an exception this time. The singer looked amazing in a backless Armani gown.

- Alicia Keys
Keys kept things simple in an LBD by Alexandre Vauthier teamed with Louboutin heels.

- Kelly Rowland
The X Factor judge looked gorgeous in this silver embellished, nude gown by Alberta Ferreti.

- Taylor Swift
Swift stepped things up in the style stakes in a stunning gown by Zuhair Murad.

- Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj took Gaga's place on the red carpet by dressing up in a nun's habit, albeit, a stylish one. It was by Versace. No word on who designed the Pope's outfit.

- Amber Rose
The model brightened things up in a canary yellow Versace gown.

- Fergie with her mum Terri Jackson
Fergie channelled Rihanna in a see-through lace number by Jean Paul Gaultier.

- Bruno Mars
Mr Mars was looking pretty dapper in a three-piece suit and shades.

- Kate Beckinsale
Beckinsale rocked a satin mini dress by Zuhair Murad.

- Carrie Underwood
The singer wore a head-to-toe sequin design by Gomez Garcia.

- Corrine Bailey Rae
Rae worked a textured LBD by Christian Siriano.

- Paris Hilton
Paris kept things sleek and sophisticated in an embellished, belted column gown.

- Ice-T and Coco
You wouldn't mess with this couple... Ice-T went suited and booted while Coco did her best to upstage him in a curve-enhancing gown.

- Jane Seymour
Seymour sparkled in an off-the-shoulder, golden gown.

- Julianne Hough
Hough got it right in a striped, strapless design.

- Bonnie McKee
A contender for worst dressed? Bonnie McKee's tassle embellished black and yellow dress got her noticed for all the wrong reasons.

- Kathy Griffin
Griffin played things a little safer in this pastel pink design.

- Lily Aldridge
Mum-to-be Lily was blooming in head-to-toe Gucci.

- Robyn
The singer showed off her unique red carpet style in a white t-shirt and cut-out skirt teamed with platform trainers.

- Mitch and Janis Winehouse
Amy Winehouse's parents paid tribute to their daughter on the red carpet.

- Cyndi Lauper
A lace corset, a maxi skirt with a slit to rival Rihanna's and a tuxedo jacket... Cyndi's outfit had it all.

- Diana Krall and Elvis Costello
Krall looked ultra chic in an off-the-shoulder black gown while Costello ditched the tuxedo in favour of a printed shirt and trilby ensemble.

- Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth looked stunning in a simple Stella McCartney gown and barely-there makeup.

- Lady Gaga and Paul McCartney
Lady Gaga shunned the red carpet this year, (let's face it, nothing could beat the egg) but she showed off her fishnet bodycon and corset ensemble next to Paul McCartney inside the awards ceremony.
