It might be positively arctic outside, but that doesn't stop the spring stock filtering stubbornly onto the high street - taunting us with its prettiness and floatiness and dependence on warm weather.

In case you hadn't already caught on, lace is having a major moment for Spring/Summer 2012 - whether worn head-toe-toe a la Valentino and Miu Miu, or in the form of delectable separates as seen at Erdem and Valli. It even made many an appearance during the couture shows, featuring heavily at Elie Saab.

So while you may currently be wrapped up in more layers than you care to count, it never hurts to be prepared, and we suggest squirreling away some of these lovely lace items before they sell out...
