Madonna And Andrea Riseborough Do Dramatic Red Carpet Dressing

Were Madonna and Andrea Riseborough trying to outdo each other on the red carpet last night?

Madge and the star of W.E, Andrea Riseborough, made heads turn at the latest premiere of the film in New York yesterday, hosted by the Weinstein Company and the Cinema Society.

Both ladies opted for dramatic, black designs with Madonna leading the way in a beaded, velvet gown adorned with a giant tulle cape. Riseborough followed suit in a strapless number embellished with a tiered peplum around the waist.

While we love the velvet gown (and her new curled crop, nude lips look), we're not sure why Madonna had to go and pair it with an accessory usually worn on Halloween. As for up and coming star Andrea - she can pull this dress off but it's just a bit too pointy. This look isn't as effortlessly glam as her usual red carpet style.
