MyDaily HQ: Danes' red lips, swept-back hair and J. Mendel dress made it to our top three looks from this year's Golden Globes. However, Angelina surprised us with her defined cat-eye liner, perfect porcelain complexion and pillar-box red lips. For us, her oh-so-glam style wins hands down.
Makeup Mole: "Angelina's look was just perfection - her hallmark cat eyeliner, plus a little bit of extra liner and shadow to add drama to her eyes were beautiful on their own. Add to that her traffic stopping red lipstick that was the exact shade to match her dress, and it was a winning look that's unusual for her as she normally downplays her beautiful lips.
Claire Danes' look was lovely as well and it was nice to see her do something different to her usual smoky eye/pale lip combo, but the slightly glossy texture to the lip didn't wear so well and overall the look just wasn't quite as polished as Angelina's".
Beauty and the Dirt: "Angelina looked flawless, you forget how absolutely stunning she is when she's surrounded by her brood in airports. Her make-up was perfect, her eyes were heavily outlined in black and those lips stood out in that coral red, matching the dress to make maximum impact with all those flashes on the red carpet. She knows what suits her and sticks to it, but I can't help thinking she looks a bit dated, she could have been in a Robert Palmer video on drums.
Clare Danes look was much softer, still going for a dramatic red lip, I prefer her scarlet shade to Angelina's but her eyes are lost in with that smoky look, they just don't stand out as much. Her skin tone is warm and has a healthy dewy finish which makes her look young and fresh, even with her lines. Hallelujah she is an actress in Hollywood with lines on her face, which I salute her for. It's why she wins all the awards too!"
Of Faces and Fingers: "This is a good illustration of how tricky it can be to get the classic red lip right. Claire Danes is a gorgeous girl, but I feel that the colours used on her skin may have dragged down the overall feel of her look. Perhaps a warmer-leaning lipstick shade, like a more coral-leaning red, and a tad more blush, would have helped to brighten her complexion and bring out her beautiful features. Angelina Jolie, on the other hand, has the perfect shade of red to suit her skintone, and paired it with her trademark winged-eyeliner look and an understated nude cheek. The overall effect is stunning, very sleek and chic".
Here's a reminder of all the beauty highlights from the Golden Globes 2012.
- Charlize Theron
Theron led the headband trend with this Swarovski encrusted style. Her hair was swept into a low, side updo and as for the makeup, a touch of pastel pink lipstick finished her look.

- Claire Danes
Claire Danes got our vote for one of the best dressed stars of the night, but we love her vintage-inspired hair and makeup too. Her loosely swept back updo looked effortlessly glam.

- Jessica Biel
We love Biel's darker hair colour teamed with this candy coloured lipstick.

- Jessica Chastain
Barely-there mascara is a brave move on the red carpet, but Chastain pulled it off. Her natural look complemented her Givenchy gown perfectly.

- Kate Winslet
The perfect red carpet updo? We love this knotted bun on Kate.

- Michelle Williams
Williams accessorised her pixie crop with super cute black headband.

- Rooney Mara
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star rocked a scraped back ponytail.

- Salma Hayek
Hayek teamed her Gucci gown with the ultimate tumbling curls.

- Tilda Swinton
The queen of androgynous style finished her lavender look with a quiff and barely-there makeup.

- Angelina Jolie
Jolie teamed her Versace gown with the perfect red pout and a scraped back updo.
