It wasn't just about the gowns on the Golden Globes 2012
red carpet last night. Jessica Biel
, Jessica Chastain
and Charlize Theron
were amongst the leading ladies who impressed us on the beauty front too.

Theron joined Michelle Williams in setting the trend for hair accessories (we've been lusting after her Swarovski encrusted hair band all morning), while Chastain got lots of beauty points for daring to wear Spring/Summer
's most difficult trend - barely there mascara.
Angelina Jolie ruled the statement lips look but Kate Winslet got our vote for best hairstyle with her chic, side-swept updo.
We asked award-winning hairdresser to the stars, Karine Jackson
, to give us her verdict. For Karine, Charlize sported the look of the night. She said, "It's a beautiful classic look with a plait and a slight twist, which really shows off her beautiful neck. The whole look was elegant but interesting at the same time and the way the hair gently falls down the side and twists into the plait keeps a softness to the up-do at the front".

Don't forget to see all the dresses in our red carpet report
- Charlize Theron
Theron led the headband trend with this Swarovski encrusted style. Her hair was swept into a low, side updo and as for the makeup, a touch of pastel pink lipstick finished her look.

- Claire Danes
Claire Danes got our vote for one of the best dressed stars of the night, but we love her vintage-inspired hair and makeup too. Her loosely swept back updo looked effortlessly glam.

- Jessica Biel
We love Biel's darker hair colour teamed with this candy coloured lipstick.

- Jessica Chastain
Barely-there mascara is a brave move on the red carpet, but Chastain pulled it off. Her natural look complemented her Givenchy gown perfectly.

- Kate Winslet
The perfect red carpet updo? We love this knotted bun on Kate.

- Michelle Williams
Williams accessorised her pixie crop with super cute black headband.

- Rooney Mara
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star rocked a scraped back ponytail.

- Salma Hayek
Hayek teamed her Gucci gown with the ultimate tumbling curls.

- Tilda Swinton
The queen of androgynous style finished her lavender look with a quiff and barely-there makeup.

- Angelina Jolie
Jolie teamed her Versace gown with the perfect red pout and a scraped back updo.
