and Michelle Williams
showed off two different versions of cropped hair last night, and while they have both established themselves as champions of the short hair do, we're struggling to decide who wears the look the best.

Mulligan teamed her Lanvin dress with her signature, sleek crop at the National Board of Review Awards
in New York. We have always loved her hair, although a touch of lipstick to brighten things up wouldn't have gone a miss.
As for Williams, she's having something of a beauty moment. She has been glowing on the red carpet recently, and her radiant look at the Beauty and Brilliance event was no exception. Her darker hair colour looked stunning with the rose pink lip colour and dewy complexion. We also admire the way she makes a blunt, boy crop look oh-so-feminine.
In fact, we think we might have found ourselves a winner.

- Carey Mulligan
Whether she's blonde or brunette, Carey Mulligan is the reigning queen of the modern day crop. She sported the sweeping fringe style at the Drive photocall at Comic Con 2011.

- Demi Moore
Back in the 1990s, Demi Moore was the icon for the crop haircut. She sported her shorter do at the premiere of Destination Anywhere in 1997. Will she ever go back to her old style? It would be good to see her try something different...

- Emma Watson
Emma Watson shed her Hermione Granger image when she first went for the chop. Her chestnut brown do looked gorgeous (and very grown-up) at the final Harry Potter premiere.

- Ginnifer Goodwin
This choppy crop looked super cute on Ginnifer Goodwin during the Once Upon A Time press tour.

- Kate Moss
Let's face it, Kate Moss could have any haircut and still look amazing. She looked radiant with a short do at the British Fashion Awards in 2001.

- Sharon Stone
Ever the blonde bombshell, Sharon Stone looked gorgeous at the 2009 Baftas. Her curly crop is an elegant alternative to a chic, red carpet updo.

- Sienna Miller
Sienna Miller can never look bad, and while she's famous for her longer locks, the actress tried out the crop style for a brief spell in 2005. Knock out? We think so.

- Tilda Swinton
Tilda Swinton sported her trademark androgynous style at the premiere of We Need To Talk About Kevin at Cannes Film Festival.

Twiggy might have been the face of fashion in the 60s, but her cropped blonde locks played a part in making her one of the biggest beauty icons of the era.

- Victoria Beckham
VB debuted her spiky pixie crop back in 2008. The shorter style looked fab on the star when she launched her new jeans collection in Germany.
