Hot Or Not: Mila Kunis In Lacy Purple For Hospital Benefit Gala

Given we are about to talk about Mila Kunis' Prabal Gurung dress in less than glowing terms we feel we should begin by saying that we really like Mila - especially after that time she told a journalist off in Russian at a press conference for being mean to Justin Timberlake.

So just keep in mind that this is entirely about the dress and not about Mila. Infact it's not entirely about the dress either, which looked fine on the runway (see the picture below), it's more about the breakdown in styling which led to the combining of actress and dress...

Okay, so we're going to approach this in stages.

The top is all about the but-is-it-actually-see-through? lace effect. This would be fine if the event wasn't the St Jude Children's Research Hospital's 50th Anniversary Benefit Gala. Call us old fashioned but we're thinking that an invite to a kid's hospital gala shouldn't have you reaching for the most boob-teasing item in your wardrobe.

The second point about the top is the lace up detail. When one is not tending bar in Coyote Ugly, one doesn't really need to involve lace up detailing any more than one needs to invest in a fringed bra or a belly-baring waistcoat.

Looking at the skirt, it looks like she's replaced the thicker belt with a thinner one which makes the ruffle of purple around Mila's middle look odd. And by 'odd' we mean it's like the belt is replacing actual stitching and is tying a length of unrelated fabric to Mila's body to protect her modesty.

In terms of the overall styling, the shoes aren't too dissimilar to the pair worn by the model on the Spring/Summer 2012 runway, the clutch is fine, the makeup is lovely and the hair is looking a little sad.

SIDENOTE: Given Mila is the new face of Dior, we're surprised to see her in Prabal Gurung at all.
