Kim Kardashian wishes Kate Middleton a happy birthday with a new shoe

Everyone's favourite 72 day divorcee, Kim Kardashian has turned the-artist-formerly-known-as-Kate-Middleton's birthday into a fabulous business opportunity (unlike us who are just wishing the Duchess of Cambridge a happy birthday because we love her so much).

Yup. As well as wishing the Duchess of Cambridge a very happy 30th, Kim has unveiled a shoe named The Duchess in honour of the royal lady, "because every woman should feel like a princess every day".

The black quilted faux-leather court is available from ShoeDazzle - the online shoe store co-founded by Kim - for £39.95 and comes with the explanation: "this shoe's classic quilting and graceful silhouette channels the Duchess's classic style." It goes on to suggest that this is the perfect shoe to wear when meeting the boyfriend's parents for the first time.

But we're calling shenanigans on all this 'in honour of Kate' business because the shoe seems to just be the black version of the pre-existing Collins shoe under a different name. Said Collins shoe comes with the blurb "Collins' classic quilting and graceful silhouette channels Jackie O's inimitable style" and is the perfect thing to wear to "meet the beau's parents for the first time."

Ahem.

Renaming aside, will you be slipping on a pair of quilted Duchesses and hot-footing it over to your prospective in-laws?
