However, as celebrity beach style goes, we were particularly impressed with Barton's retro inspired look this morning.

The actress sported a polka-dot bikini top teamed with high-waisted shorts and a loosely-swept back updo.

Naturally, Mischa's holiday style was complete with a touch of red lipstick. We didn't know you could look this glamorous on a jet ski.

Belfast

 There's more to Brazilian style than dental floss bikinis and sequins - boutique hotel <a href="http://uxua.com/" target="_blank">Casa Uxua  in Bahia</a> was founded by the creative director of Diesel, and has had the ultimate seal of approval by hosting a string of fashion shoots, including the 2010 Pirelli Calendar. On the coast at Trancoso, north of Rio de Janeiro, there's nine casas using recycled material as well as a swimming pool created from thousands of green aventurine quartz. Villas can be booked for approximately £439 per night, including breakfast.
Dubai
 Giorgio Armani spent almost five years working on the design for his new <a href="http://dubai.armanihotels.com/default-en.html" target="_blank">Armani Hotel</a> in Dubai's Burj Khalifa building. Every single thing, from the restaurant menus and bath accessories to the fabric covered walls and the bespoke furnishings have had the Armani seal of approval. There are 160 rooms and suites, eight restaurants (including the VIP Armani/Privé lounge), as well as a spa and (naturally) shops, all in the world's tallest building. Watch out for more Armani hotels planned in New York, Tokyo, Shanghai and London. Prices start from around £400 a night.
Edinburgh
 Fashion fans will be in heaven at <a href="http://www.hotelmissoni.com/" target="_blank">Hotel Missoni</a> in Edinburgh's Old Town, where everything from the slippers to the sheets and the fragranced bath products have the seal of approval from creative director Rosita Missoni. As well as the trademark zigzags popping up in the decor, you can eat Italian food on Missoni plates in the hotel's restaurant Cucina, and get a glimpse into the designer's home, as she's used some of her own personal favourite design pieces in the hotel. Prices start from £140 for the room only.
Finland
 Who cares about cold dark winters when you have a huge vintage fair to distract you? Twice a year, around 50 of Finland's best vintage and second-hand fashion dealers gather in Helsinki for the Vintage Fair. If that's not enough to keep you going, head to the city's Punavuori, Kruunuhaka, Töölö and Kallio neighbourhoods for Vintage Babushka, Helsinki 10, Mekkomania, and Penny Lane Boutique. If you're looking for an equally stylish place to sleep, the <a href="http://www.hotelfabian.fi/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=hotelfabian" target="_blank">Hotel Fabian</a> has loft-style rooms and is near the city's waterfront. Prices start from around 148 Euros.
London
 <a href="http://www.themayfairhotel.co.uk/fashionweek" target="_blank">The Mayfair Hotel</a> is the official hotel of London Fashion Week, so perfect for imagining yourself as the editor of Vogue, even if you don't have a front row seat. For the ultimate chic shut-eye, check into the Schiaparelli suite, named after the Italian designer who created the vibrant pink colour that completely takes over the room. To put your own bling to shame, check out the Crystal Room, with the largest Baccarat chandelier in Europe, worth a whopping £1 million, then follow in the celebs' footsteps with a cocktail in the May Fair Bar. Prices start from £191 a night for a Superior Room.
Paris
 No fashionista should go through life without staying in the world's style capital - and <a href="http://www.sofitel.com/gb/booking/hotels-list.shtml" target="_blank">Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg</a> has one designer trump card over the ultra-chic competition. The designer's designer Didier Gomez, the man trusted to create the HQ for Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior as well as working for Jean Paul Gaultier and Armani is behind the 21 suites and a couture apartment at the hotel. The Collections and Opera suits were inspired by the haute couture salons, mixing minimalist styling with jewels and mirrors. Prices start from around 315 Euros per night.
Portugal
 You might not associate Portugal with high fashion, but the country is making more of a splash on the design front than ever. Around 40 minutes outside the capital Lisbon, the <a href="http://www.farol.com.pt/" target="_blank">Farol Design Hotel</a> in Estoril is perfect for fashionistas who want to get ahead of the crowd. With 10 rooms from designers including Fatima Lopes and Ana Salazar, the hotel is set right on the rocks at the edge of the ocean in a mansion dating back to 1890. Rooms cost from around £90 per night. Do take a trip into Lisbon itself to check out MUDE, the museum of design and fashion as well.
Turks & Caicos
 Why live the designer's vision when you can actually stay in their holiday home? Donna Karan's villa at <a href="http://www.parrotcay.como.bz/stay/the-sanctuary" target="_blank">Parrot Cay</a>, Turks & Caicos is called The Sanctuary for a reason - it's actually two four-bedroom houses where you'll find a chef and two butlers, so you really can hide out and be pampered. Needless to say, it doesn't come cheap at $20,000 – around £13,000 - per night, although you can stay in the same resort for an almost equally glamorous experience without the eye-watering bill. <a href="http://www.vhiphotels.co.uk/hotels/caribbean/turks_and_caicos_islands/parrot_cay/" target="_blank">Virgin HIP Hotels</a> offers seven nights from £2,499 per person.
Bath
 Bath's Fashion Museum is a staycation style mecca, with displays by Helmut Lang and rare dresses by 1930s couturier Madeleine Vionnet, plus the Dress of the Year collection. Just minutes down the road, is <a href="http://www.thequeensberry.co.uk/" target="_blank">The Queensberry </a>Hotel, where there is a concierge to tip you off about some of the city's secrets as well as a bar designed by the team behind Jamie Oliver's restaurant Fifteen. Prices start from £150 for a Deluxe Double Room.
