Gillian Anderson arrived at the Renaissance Hotel for the Hidden Gems Photography Gala Auction last night wearing some full-on party makeup.

Gillian, who is about to appear on our screens as Miss Havisham in the BBC's adaptation of Great Expectations, arrived at the charity event sporting white sparkly eyeshadow, massively long eyelashes and a bright red lip.

Are you a fan of the look? We like the individual elements a lot but together they're just a bit much. There's also a certain amount of "Is that you, Madonna?" what with the hairstyling and the top part of the dress which is confusing to us at this time of the morning and without having had any coffee.
