A Chanel Fashion Face-off: Blake Lively & SJP At The MOMA Film Gala

  • Sarah Karmali
When one is invited to a grand film tribute at New York's prestigious Museum of Modern Art, one wears one's finest frock - so it came as little surprise to see both Blake Lively and Sarah Jessica Parker turning to Chanel for the occasion. (Well Karl Lagerfeld was there, it's only polite.)

Both were in attendance at MOMA's film tribute to Pedro Almodvar, alongside the likes of Miranda Kerr, Drew Barrymore and Anna Wintour - where they posed against a lush living wall of red roses. (We want our office to look like this.)

So Blake decided to have a little fun with her fashion. The Gossip Girl donned this multi-textured peplum dress from the Chanel Couture Autumn/Winter 2011 collection, which she teamed with Louboutin ankle boots, tights, a smattering of jewellery and a playful ponytail.

SJP, on the other hand, went for a more sophisticated approach to her style, in a dreamy silver beaded dress which she paired with a long navy waistcoat - both from the 2012 Chanel Resort collection.

Now if we'd had the fortune to wear either of these beautiful dresses, we would have a) ditched the tights and swapped ankle boots for dainty heels if we were Blake, or b) left that awful long waistcoat at home if we were SJP. It's a crime to cover up a dress that stunning.

But enough about what we think. What do YOU think? Who wore their Chanel best? Vote below!
