Wow what a month! With the publication of My Style and my milestone 40th birthday it's been momentous!

Love and kisses,

- My Style signings
I was touched to see how many people queued up – some overnight – to say hello and pose for a photo with me, and thrilled to meet the #TeamMinogue and #DanniiDolls crew.

- Luscious Affairs
Then it was back to Melbourne to see the two gorgeous men in my life, do some radio and TV promotion for My Style in my hometown, and celebrate my birthday.

I wasn’t planning on having one big party for my fortieth (formal birthday parties make me terribly nervous) so instead I invited my friends and family to celebrate with me over the month of October doing fun things that would make us laugh. It kicked off with a family dinner at the cooking school at my favourite local eatery, Luscious Affairs.

We divided into three teams, each with a chef and menu to deliver on time – very MasterChef style. Kris’ team won, but I’m still claiming it was a fix!! If you want to check out one of the fabulous recipes we cooked on the night click this link...

- A birthday surprise!
A friend from Sydney organized a dinner for me on Melbourne’s Colonial Tramcar Restaurant. He knew it was on my special ‘To-Do’ list and I was so happy to experience it at last. At one of the stops, Dash and D’Bree from Australia’s Got Talent surprised me with a present and birthday rap, written just for me. I’ve loved them since they were discovered on this year’s show, and the friendship is flourishing.

- The big 4-0
Friends and family from all over the world who couldn’t be there on the night sent video birthday messages and it was touching to see how much effort they’d put into them. I’m going to keep them all on my iPad as they were so funny.

(This week I’ll be having a very English high tea – cupcakes and coffee, you know I wouldn’t miss that out… whoooop!)

- The big 4-0
I’ve been looking forward to turning 40. I see a few more laughter lines when I look in the mirror, but life is good and I couldn’t want for anything more.

- The big 4-0
I’ve been reveling in my ‘midlife crisis’ which is manifesting itself in a series of fabulous mini dresses (rather than the purchase of a Ferrari) and I picked out an Uh-Mayzing crystal and sequin encrusted number by Rachel Gilbert for what I like to think of as a rock ‘chic’ (rather than rock chick) look for my actual birthday.

- ModelCo filming
This month wrapped up with some fun in Sydney. I’ve been shooting a TV commercial for ModelCo Fibre Lash, which has become the fastest selling new beauty product for Boots in the UK, so if you haven’t tried it already – treat yourself.

- Project D: Supermodels
We also introduced Sydney fashion editors to the Project D Supermodels collection, which will be out in Australia in 2012.

Now I’m getting ready to head back to the UK for another flying visit so I gotta start my packing!!!

Love and kisses,

Dannii x

- P.S...
P.S. For any bookworms out there like me, a new volume of Dear Me hit bookstores in the USA, UK and Australia this month. It is a collection of letters written by 75 well known people to their 16-year-old selves. I have written a letter and loved reading the others by stars including Hugh Jackman, Stephen King and Gene Hackman. It is crazy to just stop and think about how you would advise your 16-year-old self if you could turn back the clock.

- P.P.S...
Loved catching up with Gok Wan in Melbourne! He gave his thumbs up to Aussie designers and was totally humble about his sell-out capsule collection for Sainsbury’s.

- P.P.P.S...
Congratulations to my gorgeous ‘husband’ Kris for doing his very first skydive for Jump for Genes! He jumped to help raise money for the charity Children’s Medical Research Institute who conduct genetic research into childhood diseases. Ethan and ‘Mummy’ were first to sponsor him. Who wouldn’t give money just to see him in that funny harness??!!!!!!

- My Style signings
My My Style book signings were a whirlwind as I traveled from one end of the UK to the other to meet some wonderful people. It was funny tweeting progress reports when we were stuck in traffic on the way to Manchester and I’m really enjoying reading everyone’s #MyStyleTips on Twitter. I’ve picked up some really great new tips – ready for My Style part 2 perhaps???
