- The foundation
Don’t save a special foundation for your wedding day, it’ll feel strange on your face and the last thing you want is to look like someone else. So, buy in advance and experiment. For coverage that lasts, it’s worth using a sponge or special foundation brush (we like EcoTools’ selection, available at Boots and online at Amazon). Jules’ foundation recommendation? Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (www.giorgioarmanibeauty.co.uk) for a natural but healthy finish.

- The concealer
Bobbi Brown is concealer queen, and you can’t go wrong with her Creamy Concealer Kit (£23.50, www.bobbibrown.co.uk). We’re also big fans of Laura Mercier Secret Concealer (£18.50, www.spacenk.co.uk) for hiding under-eye circles, and Benefit Boi-ing (£16.50, www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk) for any annoying blemishes that threaten to spoil the big day.

- The eyeshadow
Your wedding day is not the day to experiment with fashion-forward colours, unless you want your photos to look seriously dated in years to come. Jules recommends Lavera Beautiful Mineral Eyeshadow in Beige or Brown £9.50 (www.lavera.co.uk) for a great base colour you can build on for a low-key smokey eye look. "Subtly enhance your eyes with a light dusting of a taupe-grey powder eyeshadow - Lavera Beautiful Mineral Eyeshadow in Magic Grey is great," she adds. "Then apply a pearly, white eyeliner to the inner corner to keep your eyes looking bright and sparkling."

- The mascara
You’ll need a waterproof mascara, obviously, but you want lashes that look supple and alluring, not brittle and spiky. Whatever you do, start with eyelash curlers, reminds Jules, and then a few generous layers of mascara. Max Factor Masterpiece Waterproof Mascara (£8.99, www.boots.com) is a great budget buy. We also highly rate Clinique Lash Power Mascara Long-Wearing Formula (£15, www.clinique.co.uk). In the months before your wedding, make Rapid Lash £39.99, rapidlash.co.uk) part of your bedtime routine for guaranteed longer lashes on your big day.

- The brows
“Preen and define your eyebrows for the ultimate polished finish with a waxy eyebrow pencil that matches your eyebrow shade,” says Jules. “Gently draw small strokes to your brows, following the natural arch and blend with an eyebrow brush.” Try Shavata Double-Ended Pencil (£8.50, www.shavata.co.uk) with her Arch Enhancer (£9.50, www.shavata.co.uk) for a professional finish.

- The blusher
If Bobbi Brown’s brilliant at concealers, she’s phenomenal at blushers. The award-winning, and simply named ‘Blush’ (£18, www.bobbibrown.co.uk) does what it says on the tin. Go for a pinky shade for that just-kissed look. If you want a hint of bronze, but not an all-out tan, Nars’ famous Orgasm Blush never fails (£20.50, www.narscosmetics.co.uk).

- The lipstick
Who says you have to spend a fortune on your wedding day lippie? “Finish your look with a caramel-nude lipgloss such as Barry M Lipgloss in Shade 4 (£4.49, www.barrym.com), for a naturally plump effect,” says Jules.

- The base
There’s a reason Laura Mercier’s Foundation Primer (£28, www.spacenk.co.uk) wins so many awards: it works. Don’t mess about with anything else. However, if you want something with a little extra glow, we also love Benefit That Gal Brightening Face Primer (£21.50, www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk).
