So here's what's been happening in the past 24 hours in New York; from Alexander Wang's sporty chic to an OTT Nicki Minaj in the front row (she's certainly giving Gaga a run for her money).
Check out our favourite fashionable moments:
-
The Show: Altuzarra

The Down-Low: Angst-ridden, eyebrow-covering hair was spotted on Joseph Altuzarra's catwalks, paired with a clean face and ultra-bold brow. All we need to complete the 90s grunge look is one of the designer's statement windbreakers and an episode of My So-Called Life.

-
The Show: Monique Lhuillier

The Down-Low: The red-carpet queen of NYFW went back to primary colours for spring, with bold pops of red, yellow and blue in her cocktail dresses and dramatic gowns. Sporty elements infused the collection, from harness details to leather-banded bodices. We can't wait to see some of those electric ball gowns on the red carpet.

-
The Show: Jill Stuart

The Down-Low: Stuart's perfectly pretty dresses were complemented with soft, pretty makeup and hair. Loose, flowing waves pinned at the side, bold eyeliner and a pinky lip reinforced the dreamy vibe of the candy-coloured collection.

-
The Show: Alexander Wang

The Down-Low: Spotted: chicest NYFW spring 2012 line-up so far featuring Carine Roitfeld, her daughter Julia and supermodel Linda Evangelista. The trio took in the leather-heavy spring collection from NYFW darling Wang, and with their black ensembles, Julia's studded handbag and sheer top and Linda's statement parka, they've certainly set the tone for what the cool kids are wearing this week. Take note.

-
The Show: Helmut Lang

The Down-Low: Helmut Lang is now designed by husband-wife duo Nicole and Michael Colovos, who made their catwalk debut yesterday after five years helming the label. It was all about cool minimalism: drapey tees, asymmetric dresses and tailored jackets.

-
The Show: Jill Stuart

The Down-Low: Model-turned-actress Jaime King and Emma Roberts were more than just pretty faces in (very) pretty pleated dresses who turned up to Jill Stuart's show to get papped. They were most definitely enjoying themselves, busily snapping pics of the clothes and pointing out their fave pieces.

-
The Show: Prabal Gurung

The Down-Low: The young designer whose fan club boasts the likes of Michelle Obama and SJP went purple-hued for spring. Inspired by Japanese photographer Araki, there were gloomy floral prints, peekaboo panels and fetish fabrics reworked for the Upper East Side-set (check out the hand-painted latex coat at left).

-
The Show: Charlotte Ronson

The Down-Low: Charlotte Ronson's front-row featured a host of PYTs including Kelly Osbourne, Nicky Hilton and Whitney Port. Kelly went for the ladylike look, but those gloves are looking a little more Disney than demure...

-
The Show: Prabal Gurung

The Down-Low: Front-row fashion statement of the week? Nicki Minaj was an electrifying sight at Prabal Gurung in a cut-out bathing suit, tutu skirt, printed tights, oversized hair bow and hot pink pretzel necklace. NYFW attention-seekers have some serious work to do to beat this look.

-
The Show: Lacoste

The Down-Low: This season is Felipe Oliveira Baptista's first outing for the brand, and his vision gave a sexy edge to the label's sporty disposition. The basic polo dress was reworked with swooping-low armholes, rugby stripes and in flowing silk fabrics.

See you later, alligators. Don't forget to check back tomorrow for our daily gossip roundup...

-
The Show: Alexander Wang

The Down-Low: Vroom vroom! High-velocity was the name of the game on our favourite sporty-chic designer's catwalk this season, who looked to motocross and NASCAR for inspiration. Think perforated leather mini-dresses, race car-striped knits and sheer jerseys emblazoned with stadium seating maps. We're definitely feeling the need for speed...
