The famous off-the-shoulder gown sold for a staggering $800,000 at Toronto's Waddington Auctioneers. It was donated by Maureen Rorech Dunkel, who bought 14 of the 79 dresses that were sold by Princess Diana in 1997 for $870,000, just weeks before she died. The entire collection on sale in Toronto is expected to fetch up to $6 million.
