Princess Beatrice put her much-mocked pretzel-style wedding hat on ebay - and it's achieved eye-watering results!
The winning bid? A mere £81,000. Yep, you read that right. So, while the world had a snigger or two (or three, or four) at the hat's expense, it seems Princess Bea has had the last laugh, and raised a huge amount for charity.
Around 40 bidders competed in the auction to get hold of the Philip Treacy headpiece, which even got it's own Facebook page after the royal wedding day.
The leading bid on the auction website yesterday stood at £75,110 but the unusual hat went for £81,100 earlier this evening.
Princess Beatrice decided to sell the what must be nearly the most famous hat in the world to raise money for Unicef and Children in Crisis.
She even commented on the auction page: 'I've been amazed by the amount of attention the hat has attracted.
'It's a wonderful opportunity to raise as much money as possible for two fantastic charities.
'I hope whoever wins the auction has as much fun with the hat as I have.'
The description on the auction site calls the pale pink silk hat a 'unique sculptural celebratory headpiece'.
Within minutes of the hat going on the auction site, famous names started bidding, with Dragons' Den star Duncan Bannatyne kicking off the proceedings.
It's not clear yet who the lucky (who should we say unlucky?) bidder is.
