'Hello Boys' billboard voted most iconic advert image of all time

It was a billboard that sent men veering off the roads.

And now, the 'Hello Boys' Wonderbra commercial - which featured Eva Herzigova's rather wondrous cleavage - has been voted the most iconic advert image of all time.

Thetrafic-stopping ad sparked a sensation when it was unveiled in 1994 and was blamed for causing accidents as commuters stared at the huge roadside posters.

The 'Hello Boys' ads also propelled its star to worldwide fame, making Eva Herzigova a household name.

Now the advert has won a public vote as the favourite 'iconic' advertising image in a poll of 10,000 people by the Outdoor Media Centre, the trade body for outdoor advertising.

It is a little more lighthearted than its runners up, which saw second place taken by the Conservative Party's 'Labour Isn't Working' campaign by advertising agency Saatchi and Saatch,i which depicted a dole queue to highlight rising unemployment figures, and was seen as influential in Margaret Thatcher's Conservative Party victory in the 1979 General Election.

In third place was Lord Kitchener's army recruitment poster dating back to World War One.

The immediate impact of the poster has seen it copied for almost a century since its first use in 1914.
